Aroldis Chapman’s Big Moments Good and Bad
by sam g.
Have you ever wondered what the fastest baseball ever thrown was? Well, I will tell you right now. The fastest pitch was by Aroldis Chapman. He pitched it 106 mph against Andrew McCutchin on April 18, 2011 at Great American Ball Park. If you don’t know what that is the Great American Ball Park is the Cincinnati Reds baseball park. This is a video link of the pitch.
Here is a picture of Aroldis Chapman when he was on the Reds. He is currently on the New York Yankees.

Here are Aroldis Chapman’s career stats:
Games Played: 435
Earned Runs: 105
Wins: 27
Loses: 24
Saves: 204
WHIP: 1.01
ERA: 2.21
Aroldis Chapman played in the World Series in 2016 and almost lost the game for the Cubs, or worse. the entire World Series. He let up a two run home run to Rajái Davis in the bottom of the eighth inning on a 2-2 count with two outs in the inning of game 7. The Cubs went on to win that game, but boy was that homerun a big change for the game. The Indian fans were starting to put their rally caps on. It was only a 6-4 game. If you ask me, that is a pretty close game especially with the Indians lineup. Click on this link if you want to see the homerun that Rajai Davis hit off of Aroldis Chapman.

top five quarterbacks of all time
by Liam R. & Cole S.
In the NFL quarterback is one of the most crucial positions. They run their offenses and pick apart defenses
with their wits and throws all while taking big hits and and only being protected by the safety of their offensive
lines. It takes skill to to succeed at quarterback, but these players are the best at what they do.

5. Brett Favre
While playing with a shaky offensive line and mediocre receivers this all time great still has 71,838 all purpose yards, 62.0 completion percentage, 7.1 yards per passing and a whopping 508 touchdown passes under his belt. Brett “The Gunslinger” Favre as his teammates called him was not known for his accuracy at a 3.3 touchdown to interception ratio. Favre threw 336 interceptions in his career, yet he showed one of the strongest arms in NFL history. Brett Favre played for 20 NFL seasons with the Falcons, Packers, and Vikings while setting multiple records such as most consecutive starts with exactly 297. |
4. Peyton Manning
Manning grew up in a football family. His dad, Archie, played quarterback for the New Orleans Saints. Manning threw for 71,940 with a 65.3 completion percentage and averaged 7.7 yards per throw attempt. He also threw 539 touchdowns and 251 interceptions with a 2.7 interception percentage and a 5.7 touchdown percentage. Manning finished his career with a 96.5 passer rating with two Super Bowl rings and one Super Bowl MVP. Manning is also a 14 time Pro Bowl quarterback, five-time NFL Most Valuable Player, and two time Offensive Player of the Year. Manning is most known for his incredible wits and ability to recognize different defensive coverages, change the play (audible), and make the correct reads to throw the best pass possible. |
3. Johnny Unitas
Coming into the NFL Johnny was considered to be too small to become an elite quarterback, but he turned out to be one of the best. He completed 40,239 yards, he had a 54.6 completion percentage, 290 touchdowns, a Super Bowl win, and he was a 10 time Pro Bowler. Johnny's teammates believed they could win with him. Johnny didn't have that good of a percentage at 54.6, but Johnny led the NFL in passing yards (2,899) touchdown passes (32) , and completions (193). |
2. Joe Montana
Joe Montana threw for 40,551 with a 63.2 completion percentage 7.5 yards per attempt, 273 touchdowns, and 139 interceptions. Joe won four Super Bowls, two NFL MVP's, and the 1989 Offensive Player of the Year. Joe Montana possessed one of the most important traits for a great quarterback: the ability to keep calm and play at a high level under pressure. With Joe “Cool” Montana at QB, his team was never out of it. An example was when Joe “TheComeback Kid” led the San Francisco 49ers to a fourth-quarter win when they were down 16-13 with a 97-yard drive in Super Bowl XXIII. |
1. Tom Brady
Tom “GOAT” Brady was drafted 199 in the 2000 NFL draft, and he still plays today. He has set the record for oldest quarterback to throw a touchdown. Brady has thrown for 61,582 yards, 487 touchdowns, with a 63.8 completion percentage and 7.5 yards per attempt, the exact same as Joe Montana. And like Joe Montana, Brady earns his name for being able to perform well in high pressure situations. His latest example was in Super Bowl LI where his team (Patriots) was down 21-3 at half time. Brady’s great throws and reads forced the game to overtime. That's when the Patriots made a quick 6 play strike, 5 of which were passes by Brady. The Patriots then ran the ball into the end zone and Brady picked up his fourth Super Bowl MVP and his fifth Super Bowl victory. Brady is a 12 time Pro Bowler, three time NFL MVP, and a two time Offensive Player of the Year. |
